A documentation of the tickets collected during a one-year period (2015) of using the local microbuses in Concepción, this quick video animation use the tickets and clips of a ride in the day and a ride at night. The monotony of an everyday commute is notable, as well as the shocking number of tickets that are collected over a year's time.

Sloth
“Sloth” or “acedia” is one of the seven deadly sins. It has been defined as “spiritual apathy” and “avoidance of being an active participant in life”. “Sloth” follows a single character duplicated in seven Baltimore scenes that delve into contemporary aspects of acedia.
Phallic Final
This film is a non-linear narrative montage that combines different aesthetics and ideas. The phallic symbols of long legs, cigarettes, and chess pieces are running themes. The film also explores the idea of meta-cinema, a movie within a movie, as introduced by Michael Powell in his film "Peeping Tom." Alice Guy Blaché's techniques of playing the film backwards and using stop motion animation are used throughout. A third major reference is Maya Daren. Surreal situations such as a person interacting with a clone of themselves and the use of alternative narrative are key components to the film. The movie ends with the long-legged silhouette stepping out of the screen and thus breaking the invisible boundary between the audience and characters. (“Best of Show” in 2009 Rosebud Film Festival)
Human Induced versus Naturally Occurring Aerosols
This animation juxtaposes ocean clouds and city clouds. They zoom to the particle-detail level to show differences in aerosol particle composition and back out to show that clouds over oceans are taller and darker than those over cities. I collected the time-lapse footage and researched, modeled, and animated the microscopic aerosols. They were created as part of the Glory satellite mission.
Sources of Aerosols
This animation shows the different sources of aerosols, how they mix in the Earth’s atmosphere, and finally disappear by creating sediment or raining out. It was created as part of educational materials for the Glory satellite mission. I was the sole animator.
Call & Response 3D Buoy Design Process
The 3D Buoy Design for Call & Response was an internship completed with Professor Steve Bradley in 2007. The buoy was modeled and rendered in 3D for the purpose of visualizing the artist's concept for the buoy, an instrument to be placed in a harbor in harbor elsewhere and reachable by telephone from anywhere in the world. An identical buoy in Baltimore's Inner Harbor would communicate with said buoy in an interdisciplinary art, science, and technology project.
Telephone
Audio is cultural application of vocal communication. My undergraduate thesis, Telephone (2007) involved the collection and study of the acoustics of 12 languages. It metaphorically implies the merging and disbursement of cultures through speech. Constructed from pieces of a dissected telephone and modeled in 3D, five characters represent cultures and generalized acoustic properties of languages from five continents. They communicate and pass a visual representation of those voices sequentially, similarly to the process in the children’s game “Telephone”. Finally, the last character produces a sound incorporating all voices, symbolizing the imminent worldwide cultural mesh.
Shout
Shout is a collaborative film made by the Imaging Research Center Fellows at the University of Maryland Baltimore County in the spring of 2006 under the direction of Professor Eric Dyer. One of the ten students, I designed and built 3 zoetrope-like paper sculptures, using music by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) as inspiration. Using the spinning zoetropes filmed with a digital video camera with high shutter speed, we made a video for live synchronization and performance by the BSO at the Meyeroff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.

Methodic Melodies
Methodic Melodies is an experimental sound piece I made while living in Germany. The method describes how I invented the frequencies and volume of each noise. It reflects on the sounds of the German language.
Schwäbisch Hall Walk
While studying in Schwäbisch Hall Germany for 6 months, I recognized the utmost importance of preserving medieval and Pre-WWII architecture. This starkly contrasts to the United States’ “demolish and rebuild”, “throw-away” culture. I researched the history of architecture in the town, particularly the Clausnizerhaus in the Marienplatz. After completing research in both German and English with the help of my advisors, I made my first two animations. Experimental Walk (2005) explores the town of Schwäbisch Hall and uses original audio recording from the site.
